IK Multimedia Joe Satriani TONEX expansion
27 amps from iconic Joe Satriani’s collection
IK Multimedia have announced the launch of Joe Satriani Amp Vault Signature Collection, continuing their long-running partnership with the legendary guitarist and kitting TONEX users out with a collection of 59 new Tone Models based on a selection of his most prized amps.
The pack features 27 amplifiers handpicked from Joe’s collection, all of which have been captured using IK Multimedia’s AI Machine Modeling process at Sammy Hagar’s Red Rocker Studios. The selection includes sought-after vintage classics to modified signature amps, delivering sounds that have featured on albums such as ‘Surfing with the Alien’ and ‘The Elephants of Mars’.
Classic British rock tones are provided courtesy of multiple Marshall amps, including four versions of Joe’s signature JVM410H amp: stock, C83 Mod, KT88 and 6L6. His original 1971 Super Lead and 1969 Plexi are also present, along with a ’69 Super Lead that was stolen around 1983 before being returned to his collection nearly 30 years later. There’s no shortage of classic American sounds, either, with nine offerings from Fender that include a ’64 Custom Princeton Reverb, ’64 Custom Deluxe Reverb, ’68 Custom Deluxe Reverb and a ’57 Deluxe® loaded with an Alnico Cream Celestion speaker, as well as a selection of late ’60s reissues based on a ’68 Custom Pro Reverb, ’68 Custom Princeton Reverb, ’65 Princeton Reverb and a ’68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb.
The expansion includes 27 Tone Models captured from Joe Satriani’s collection of vintage and modern classics.
In addition to the comprehensive selection of Marshall and Fender classics, the pack also includes models of several other amps that have become part of Joe’s studio and touring rigs. There’s a Peavey 5150, SLO-30, Friedman Small Box and newer 5150III models well suited to those in search of high-gain sounds, while those after cleans get a Hiwatt and Roland Jazz Chorus. Finally, the collection includes a model of an incredibly rare Wells amp — a model that boasts a blend of VOX, Fender and Marshall-style circuits, and is one of only five models in existence!
